The Lithuanian gaming oversight body has levied another penalty against Top Sport, this time for breaching mobile gambling rules.
Top Sport was hit with a €15,000 (£12,913/$16,017) fine due to its betting application automatically placing wagers. The regulatory body explained that the app would automatically repeat bets after a user placed a bet on a live dealer roulette table provided by Ezugi, once the user secured their phone. The regulator determined that this action contravened sections 4 and 5 of Article 16 of the Lithuanian Gambling Law, as the game did not fulfill certain prerequisites. According to section 4, all gaming equipment must meet the standards set and approved by the regulator. Meanwhile, section 5 stipulates that gaming equipment and remote gaming equipment must possess a certificate issued by an accredited entity, confirming that they comply with the legal requirements. The regulator also cautioned Top Sport that its permit in Lithuania could be rescinded if it breaches the regulations again or fails to rectify the problem. The operator has until July 1st to implement the necessary adjustments.
All rulings made by the oversight body are subject to appeal.
This week, authorities levied a €25,000 penalty on Top Sport for permitting underage individuals to access one of their gaming establishments. This is the most recent decision.
The inquiry revealed that three individuals, at least one of whom was a minor, were able to gain entry to the facility and remain for over two hours.
Authorities emphasized that Top Sport failed to take any steps to remove the three individuals from their property.
